Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) 2012 - Western Module
(17 Jun 12 - 21 Jun 12)

Welcome to Australia

Andrew McEvoy
Managing Director Tourism Australia

"The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) is Tourism Australia’s premier annual industry event allowing international buyers and sellers to come together under one roof in a week-long event.

It is Australian tourism’s opportunity to take centre stage to showcase to the world the very best tourism products, services and experiences on offer. For the overseas travel trade it is also a chance to experience first-hand why there truly is nothing like Australia.

In 2011, ATE was held in Sydney and was a tremendous success with approximately 2,000 tourism delegates from 42 countries attending. For 2012, ATE moves to the city of Perth on Australia’s magnificent west coast. Rich in history, culture and natural beauty, Perth will be welcoming ATE and all tourism delegates with open arms and I hope you can join us to be a part of this significant tourism event.

Australia remains a unique and compelling holiday destination, with recent figures indicating that international arrivals are continuing to grow, particularly in the Eastern markets, as Chinese visitors increased by 24 per cent in the past 12 months. ATE continues to play a critical role in fostering future opportunities for tourism growth, through the business relationships that are formed and maintained during the event.

I encourage your participation in ATE 2012 and look forward to seeing you in Perth."

Tourism Australia's role is to stimulate sustainable international and domestic tourism.
