The Greater China Travel Mission (GCTM) 2009 will be held from 8 – 12 November 2009 in Guangzhou. The Australian Travel Mission to China (ATMC) ran for the past 12 years and was one of the major annual trade events in North Asia. In 2009 the event will be transformed to include more buyers outside of Mainland China. Key partners from Hong Kong and Taiwan will be recruited to join this trade event in 2009 which has been renamed the ‘Greater China Travel Mission’. GCTM targets group and leisure travel markets and provides direct access to travel agents, tour operators, government representatives, media and airlines in Greater China Regions of China Mainland, Hong Kong SAR & Taiwan. The event will also educate Australian suppliers on new and existing issues affecting the Greater China Regions.

EIBTM is a specialist exhibition designed to help organisations with their meetings and conference programmes, business travel requirements and incentive travel campaigns. EIBTM attracts over 7,000 visitors, 3,700 hosted buyers and media and nearly 3,000 exhibitors from 85 countries. EIBTM will be held in Barcelona, Spain from 1-3 December 2009.

Borsa Internazionale del Turismo (BIT) is Italy’s key travel show. Now in its 30th year it will be held in Milan from 18-21 February 2010. In 2009 there were 153,000 visitors, of which 66% were professional operators. There were 101,000 trade visitors (81,500 Italian Operators and 19,500 from overseas) who met in Milan to discuss business opportunities together with 52,800 consumers and 3,400 journalists. Attracting over 5,000 exhibitors from 140 countries, BIT attracts both Italian and international operators and continues to be the key travel trade event in Italy.

Japan Australia Mission (JAM) and Korea Travel Mission (KTM) 2010 will be combined and held in Tokyo this year from Wednesday 24 February - Friday 26 February 2010. JAM 2010 and KTM 2010 continue to be the premier trade event presenting Australian products and services to key Japanese and Korean travel industry personnel. To apply to attend both JAM and KTM you will need to apply separately for each event.

Travel agents from the UK, Europe and South Africa will come together at Corroboree ’10, a new and exclusive training event for qualified Aussie Specialists.   Corroboree '10, an initiative of the Destination Australia Partnership*, combines two existing events (Discover Australia and Corroboree UK) into an improved format that will offer a great range of benefits to all who attend. This year, the training workshop will be followed by a familiarisation. Each State will host up to 43 agents on a famil program that is designed to showcase the diversity and quality of tourism experiences available in Australia.  Following this, the agents will attend a training workshop that provides the opportunity for participating Australian sellers to train approximately 300 Aussie Specialists from Germany, Austria, Switzerland (x 102), Italy (x 18), France (x 18), Belgium & Netherlands (x 12), Norway, Finland, Denmark & Sweden (x 10), Ireland (x 10) UK (x 130) and South Africa all in one location during one event.
